Mother Tounge #2

In Amy Tans Mother Tounge she described how there are many types of english including simple english, broken english, and watered down english. As a writer it is important to write for what audience will most likley be reading your work. The triangles purpose is to ask and answer good questions, for example, Who is the audience?, What is the purpose?, and Who is the author? Tan explained that when she talked with her mother she said that she used watered down english so that it was easier for her mother to understand. Tan also used perfect english when she spoke to teachers and when she wrote her book The Joy Luck Club. I think that realizing who your audience is and adjusting your writing is what makes the difference between good and great authors. This also helped me realize that I need to adjust my writing to fit the audience that will be reading my work.

Its good that you learned that when writing you have to be conscience of who, what, and why you are writing. Though i'm not sure where you were going with the post. You did make a good point on the different ways English is used, from watered down to broken to formal speaking. I think that different writing uses a different form of English, what do you think?
