What is a Blog? #1

To me a blog is a way to share something with others. I can be personal or it can be general. You could talk about things going on in your life or problems that are going on in the world. Blogs can be funny, serious, sad, or they can have pictures and movies. Blogs are a way to communicate with a large amount of people without having to send a mass e-mail. They are more convienient than sending a letter... but who send through the mail anymore? If you need help with something you could post a blog about what is going on and get more than one or two helpful answers. Blogs are simply an easier way of communication!

OK so that is so true about the sending "snail mail" no one really does it. Probably the only time people do it is during the Christmas season because that's when all the Christmas letters are sent out.

So true! My uncle has a blog that he uses to communicate to our whole family through. Its a very convenient way to keep in touch with people, and it has more features than an e-mail. Do you or would you consider ever having a personal blog?

That is true, but how do you feel on the more serious blogs like hate crimes? Do you feel that they should be able to show kids and other people how much they hate others freely? Its fine when people use them for fun and games and to keep in touch, but do you think they should have sensors on blogs like those for hate crimes? Just some other ways to look at it.

I think you did a great job explaining the definition of a blog. I agree with you, especially when you said they are more convenient that sending a letter. It is a lot easier then having to wait for the letter to go through the mail, and i think you proposed and interesting point. It was something that i hadn't considered. Although, personally what is a blog to you? How can you relate the information to the articles you read and the videos you watched? Think about all the different aspects of a blog. Not only is it an easier way of communication but it is also a place full of issues and debates. Do you have an opinion on hate groups or debates that occur within a blog?

I agree with you on the fact that blogs are a way to share information with other people. I also agree with you and colleen in that this is a whole lot faster then "snail mail". This can also be a safe way with people using false names people worried about being found and hurt because of their posts.

I agree with you on the fact that blogs are away to share information with others and that you basically have the option to share all kinds of information and knowledge. However, I would not necessarily say that blogs are easier to communicate with each other as you need way more knowledge and equipment to do so, for instance all the technology involved with it. Additionally I personally would never use a blog to get answers to certain problems, let alone personal problems as I wouldn’ want to share my problems with the rest of the world.

I totally agree that blogging is an easy way to keep in touch, but it's another one of those things to keep in contact. There is email, myspace, facebook, blogs and many more. I'm honestly not a big blog person, I just can't get into writing them. I honestly wouldn't have one if it wasn't for this class. But if people like it over other things, than it is very useful in ways of communication.
